I figured I'd continue on with the X-men theme for the next post, so here's another piece from the Baby Boomers book. I have to confess that I never read any of the X-men comics, but I do enjoy the movies.
This was just a fun idea, having Magneto with fridge magnets. My husband also suggested to spell mutants incorrectly, which I thought was really cute too. At first I was thinking of not having the fridge and counter there, just with levitating letter. But after I roughed it out, it just didn't seem complete, and if I made Magneto shorter, the fridge helped with creating that perspective.
The last thing I wasn't sure about was his costume. Since I didn't read the comics, I was thinking of having the darker colors from the movie, but my friends suggested I go with the brighter old school color scheme.
I'm very pleased at how vibrant everything turned out for this too. This was drawn on a 9 x 12 bristol board with goold old pencil crayons!
